Good grief! This post in ages in the making.
Back in February when my mom was her to visit, Kamille as right at the end of her Dinosaur unit in school and she was all about dinosaurs and such. Coincidentally, it was at that time that a local vendor announced that they will be hosting the Dinosaur Train event.
Dinosaur Train is a cool and educational kids cartoon that my girls watch on Netflix. They have learned from it, I am sure. While Kamille did her dinosaur unit at school she was more and more relating to the characters and dialogue of the show because she now understood what herbivore, omnivore and carnivore all meant and stuff like that.
So when my mom saw that Dinosaur Train was coming to town, she insisted that I take my enthusiastic mini palaeontologists!
Mom wasn't going to be in town when the event happened over Spring Break, but she did leave us some money to purchase our tickets! Thanks Mom!
We arrived on time and ready to board the Dinosaur Train. The train was filled with background dialogue of the Dinosaur train characters. We waited to see where the train would take us!!! Oh the anticipation!

| or not! ; ) |
The scenes of the less than 10 minute ride were very familiar to the girls, but it was a train ride nonetheless and something to enjoy.
Upon arriving to the station, we were handed a book that outlined our challenges at our destination. We each chose two colouring crayons and we followed the large coloured dinosaur tracks to the place where the dinosaurs roamed and flew above us!
We started here...
 |
| documenting their findings by drawing what they found in their dig. |
Accompanying each of the larger-than-our-life dinosaurs were easy to read information cards.
Ha! This was funny! ; )
Some man offered to take our photo at the crotch of the conductor!??? ; ) Nice.
This is what he really looked like!
The Petroglyph Cave was the place that we stayed the longest.
Kamille had learned to draw a Stegosaurus at school and this was the perfect spot to show off her talent!
 |
| look at that super sweet sun that she drew! love it! |
And holy dinosaur!! What it ever a great Stegosaurus!
We realized that things were moving along as we spent lots of time drawing. We still had to find Buddy! He had disappeared on us by this point.
While we waited for him to surface again, we moved onto another activity.
The Main Event.......
Both girls were so excited to meet Buddy! Especially Karis! That is, until we actually did get to meet him and then Karis was a bit fearful.

Eventually we said goodbye and moved on...
We got some popcorn and sat down to watch a large screen showing an episode of Dinosaur Train.
Soon after it was time to board our train again....
Tattooed up and ready to go!
Oh and they are now official member of the Nature Trackers Club.
