This is a story about our girl Karis.
Who arrived in Mexico on a warm night in December.
She had no idea what it would be like.
We had no idea how she would like Mexico.
Upon our arrival we dressed up with our girls and made our way to an Asian restaurant for dinner.
Kevin ordered a Cerveza, I ordered a white wine, and because the drinks were "free," we introduced our girls to the Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri.
That night after dinner, we headed on over to the lobby bar where we all sat on the couches with the intention of taking in a life band and people watching.
Kevin and I sipped cocktails, Karis asked for a "juice."
Karis asked for "juice" once, twice, three times ..........
She got juiced. The next morning was not kind to her.
Its not often that Karis is the last of our family members to get up in the morning, but on this day something was different.
She was a bit loopy, she was a bit out of sorts.
Could it be that she was experiencing a serious low following the sugar rush?

Yep, she got juiced.
As our daily routine began to take shape, we found ourselves sitting by the kiddie pool each morning.
Good Morning Mexico
It didn't take long for the girls to realize that their "cuteness"was completely irresistible in the eyes of Seniorita Alejandra.
We soon realized that Karis had Seniorita Alejandra wrapped around her baby finger.....
"Juice please!"

...the more cute she became.....

Dancing by the pool.
Struttin' her Lil' Swimmers butt.
And the more juiced she got......
....the more Seniorita Alejandra came by.
Big Sis enjoyed the juice too, but not as much as her Lil' Sis.
Cutness infused juice, I think.
Awaiting her wake up. One for Mommy, one for Karis.
And if you think that I enabled her......
....that is correct.
I wasn't interested in a grumpy girl that cried because she wanted juice. Really, I was too busy doing nothing to care.
Have at 'er my girl!
"Mom, this toast and jam is really good and all, but you know what would really wash this down well...?"
"Hey mom. Its been a while since I've seen Seniorita Alejandra. Would you mind walking over to the bar for me?"

And realized that if she dressed up fancy the bartenders were just as kind to her as her beloved Seniorita Alejandra.

Hey Daddy, lets go for a swim. Take me into that deep pool over there, will ya!"
"Hey, and while we're here, why don't you steer me on over to that Senior at the bar"
Karis: "Un vaso de jugo por favor" Kevin: "Whoa!!!!! What the heck? Karis, when did you start speaking spanish?"
Needless to say, that afternoon in the warmth of the sun, a small girl was passed out.
Waking up was never easy.
So we found ourselves stopping into the beach bar for a juicy appetizer.
Now that's some serious sippin'
permanently red.
Karis enjoyed her time in Mexico.....
One drink at a time....
....with a red tongue.

She has now been juice-free for one month and is doing just fine.

Hilarious!!! She is one funny girl. Although, won't be so funny when she's 18 and wanting to go Mexico with 10 friends!! ;))
ReplyDeleteLoved your last post about the aqua aerobics! Her expressions had me lol!!!!
Miss ya
xo
oh my goodness, so funny!!
ReplyDeleteHILARIOUS!!! I love that kid!!
ReplyDeleteI could look at those photos repeatedly, too cute! I remember coming home after our trip to Mexico last year and trying to convince the kids that my healthy smoothies were actually bahamamama's. They didn't buy it, but enjoyed them just the same :)
ReplyDeleteAh! That's funny Heather! I could try something like that but my smoothies always end up green - no way they'd pass for the strawberry daiquiri!
